Headed to New York City!

The Jim 'N Nick's Bar-B-Q rig is hitting the road for New York City again this week to participate in the Big Apple BBQ Block Party in Madison Square Park.  For the last several years, we have been honored to be a part of this great event that celebrates barbecue from all over the country concentrated in one city block on Saturday, June 9 and Sunday, June 10.  Entrance to the event is free and individual vendors sell their barbecue right from their smoking rigs that line the park. There are beverage vendors and free concerts too.  A percentage of the proceeds goes to the Madison Square Park Conservancy.

Our buddies, Pat Martin of Martin's BBQ Joint in Nolensville, TN and Rodney Scott from Scott's Bar-B-Q in Hemingway, SC will have their own rigs at the park to serve from.

We are also very happy to attend the Southern Foodways Alliance "Potlikker Film Festival" that is taking place at Blue Smoke in New York on Friday night.  There will be food prepared by our friends, Kenny Callaghan of Blue Smoke, Ryan Prewitt of Herbsaint in New Orleans, and Robert Newton from Seersucker in Brooklyn.  Julian Van Winkle will pour and Joe York will show some short films from the Southern Foodways Alliance archive.  For tickets and information go to:  www.southernfoodways.org
